Removing the Automatically-Generated Social Media Images
I was very proud of how I set up automatically-generated social media images for A Place For My Head, but after reading Jim Nielsen’s sensible and persuasive ‘Quibbles With Social Share Imagery’, I feel a bit embarrassed about the whole thing. Given how simple the structure of my articles is, the generated images hardly provided any relevant information beyond what was already in the preview.
I’ve deleted the extant images and metadata, and moved the image generation code into a new archival directory. On the bright side, that should certainly speed things up. The article documenting the technique remains for posterity, of course.
