What a lovely little film, as one has come to expect from Aardman Animation. It’s charming, quiet, soft, sweet, cute, and amusing. The voice work is equally lovely, charming, and soft. The animation is wonderfully suited. The singing is pleasant. The crows and mice… well, the crows eating bugs and mice leaving droppings are less nice.
Gillian Anderson turns in an odd performance as the cat. In fact, I really thought this would be a feature-length film; her story feels incomplete. I’m disappointed there isn’t more.
