The Boys : Season 3, Episode 1

Gorier and more disgusting than ever before. I couldn’t get past this first episode of the season. The performances are still great and the show has good in it, but I can’t stomach any more hyper-violent, ultra-gory self-indulgence. I’m also simply uncertain of the trajectory of the overall story. What’s more, Antony Starr’s offscreen behaviour has tarnished his incredible performance as Homelander for me: now it seems much closer to his own personality. On top of that, I don’t like or feel for any of the characters except Starlight and possibly M.M. Finally, I don’t like whatever relationship the show is building between Homelander and Butcher in this season.
